The short version
Open Legal Aid (openlegalaid.com) is a static website with no user accounts, no login, and no database. Our free tools (the formation checklist and the operating agreement generator) run entirely in your browser — the business details you type into them (company name, state, members, ownership percentages) are never sent to us or stored anywhere. Closing the tab clears them.
What we don't collect
We don't require an account, don't ask for your email, and don't currently run analytics or advertising trackers on this site. We don't sell or share personal data, because we don't collect any through the site itself.
Standard hosting logs
Like virtually any website, our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical information for every visit (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and reliability purposes. We don't actively use these logs for tracking or marketing.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links to third-party formation services (see our About page). If you click one and sign up, that third-party service has its own privacy policy governing the information you give them — we don't see or control that data.
Changes
If this site adds analytics, an email list, or any other data collection in the future, we'll update this page first and reflect the change honestly — not bury it.
